Q: 中(zhōng)国(guó)古(gǔ)代(dài)的(de)女(nǚ)人(rén)为(wéi)什(shén)么(me)缠(chán)足(zú)?
A: 因(yīn)为(wéi)她(tā)们(men)的(de)老(lǎo)公(gōng)怕(pà)他(tā)们(men)逛(guàng)街(jiē)。

Q: Why in the old days women in China had their feet bound?
A:Because their husbands do not want them go shopping.

Note: Before 1949 women in China had their feet bound as form of beautification.

古代的(gǔ dài de) = ancient
女人= (nǚ rén)woman
缠足(chán zú) = foot-binding
老公(lǎo gōng) = husband
逛街(guàng jiē) = go shopping
