Most Commonly Used English in Chinese

English: Hold on
Chinese #1: 等一下(děng yí xià)

Example: Jason is talking to his friend on the phone at home while Jane calls and looks for Jason's mom. So Jason says:

"等一下,我去叫她。" (Děng yí xià, wǒ qù jiào tā.)/ Hold on, I'll go get her.

Chinese #2: 坚持住(jiān chí zhù)

Example: It is already 11:50 pm and Jenny still haven't finished her assignment for tomorrow. She is so sleepy, so her roommate Barbara says:

"坚持住!你可以做到的!" (Jiān chí zhù! Nǐ kě yǐ zuò dào de!)/ Hold on! You can do this!
